Once again, Nancy Levin nails it!
In Worthy Boost Your Self-Worth to Grow Your Net Worth, Nancy provides a series of clear steps that lead from Taking the Blinders Off to Doing the Impossible. The exercises are easy, but beautiful and revealing as they guide the willing reader to discover things that have previously been ignored, but driving actions of limited worthy thinking.
One of my favorite steps was analyzing my hidden beliefs around making any financial action for myself and what (and who) was behind those actions. I drove a 12 year-old car with a bumper only half attached and no AC (in south Florida) that would beep when it was running for years, all because I could justify dozens of reasons it was "good enough" for me. Gently, the exercises helped me uncover why I thought that way and helped me take action to change. I really was financially able to buy a new car, I just hadn't been able to see that I was worth it. What a win-win! Eliminating what was holding me back to improve my self-worth and allow me to understand that viewing myself as small and limited keeps (kept) me from growing my net-worth.
As a part of Nancy's group coaching, I received a preview copy of Worthy and having read it more than once, I can say that it is a book I will return to again and again. I have to say that in a short time, I'm on my way. Thank you Nancy for this beautiful guide!
This book is beyond amazing. This is a self-help book that ACTUALLY HELPS YOU. I kept notes in my phone for each exercise and I noticed when I went back to look at some of them that my thinking had actually changed for the better since beginning. This book has a lot of exercises, and they may seem like too many or too strenuous for some, but please, I urge you, don't stop doing them. I got stuck at one point so I had to change my approach in order to keep going because I got bogged down in all my excuses during the excuse section. But once I decided to keep going I found completing this book to be more than worth the time and money. The only thing I felt disappointed about was that she doesn't have a plan for continuing after the book is over. There is no like, okay, now you're going to review your desires every month, or make steps every month, or work on debunking your beliefs every so often. That part leaves you to your own discipline to get through. But as a beginning to get the ball rolling in a super, mega-charged way, I would highly recommend. As someone who reads self-help books voraciously I know this is one of the most helpful ones. This is truly a must-read.
