The Isle Series Book Three
Wig Tobias and Nibs Tyler have been together for a long while, but this year their love is about to be tested. Their business, the Blue Lagoon Restaurant on the Isle of Wight, is vandalized, and it may or may not be a coincidence that the neighbors want to buy them out. Making matters stickier, the police don't seem interested in investigating until a friend of the couple, an out of town copper, prods them to take action.
Their friends, Paul and Olaf, Liam and Sam, and the whole Owens family come to help Wig and Nibs in their time of need. But Paul and Olaf may need a nudge from Wig and Nibs to keep their relationship alive. Meanwhile, a dear friend falls gravely ill. And if that's not enough, Nibs has been hiding his own medical problems from Wig. When a gale strikes the Isle of Wight, the Blue Lagoon and its owners could be facing the end - unless they and their friends can unravel the knot of misfortune one hitch at a time.

If this is the end of the series, it couldn't have been accomplished in grander style, wit, and love. Ostensibly about the crises and love life of Isle of Wright's Blue Lagoon Restaurant owners Wig and Nibs, it's really another extension of the wonderfully whacky adventures of the Owens family of London and the Isle. This off-the-wall group includes two gay sons, Sam and Paul, whose daily lives have dovetailed with their respective love lives, both with Americans, Liam for Sam and Olaf for Paul. We've met these two couples in the previous issues of the series, and they are still around through this madcap whirl.Not that Wig and Nibs are ignored. No, this is their story, but it's also about how a small group of gay men intersect the lives of other people to the extent that they make a difference in the lives of others, and in effect create a community of interests and love. You will laugh, perhaps shed a tear or two, but along the way you will have a wonderful time and regain your faith in your fellow man, and the men in heir lives.

Sue Brown has an uncanny ability to cobble together characters that we wish were a part of our lives. My only complaint is that the bad guys never really seemed to pay for their ignorance. Still, I hope that there is more.
It was a good editions to the series. The plot was entertaining and it left me wanting more.
I adore this series! I love that we get to see the continuation of the characters, her style of writing and the way she tackles serious subjects with humor mixed in.
I enjoyed reading about Nibs and Wig, but Paul and Sam stole the show in this one.

Absolutely sublime! I can't wait for another of these island stories. Another triumph for Sue Brown!
Too many story threads, too many characters, too much repetition (especially in language and phrasing; references to Owenses and family; and "flipping people off"), too much lack of resolution as you leave plot lines dangling in obvious anticipation of future volumes in the series, too little development of characters beyond what they have always been (bad boy Paul, needy man Liam, flaming Wig, hovering Mattie and Jim, indecisive Olaf, etc., etc., etc.), and, finally, too little depth and introspection with too much repetitive yammering.
This is the continuing saga of the Isle stories. This book center on Wig and Nibs. We get to revisit some of the people from previous books too. I loved that Wigs, who is flaming, actually is a serious character and shows us his thoughts and feelings. I liked Nibs as well, but his character wasn't as fleshed out.
This is the last in a brilliant series of 3.
Each can be read separately, but best together with no break.
They are captivating, love stories and crime novels, and family sagas rolled into one delightful mess (meant in the sweetest way possible).
I really feel like I want to meet these characters in person, there is so much life, laughter, seriousness - and sex, in these books, you can not but love them.
